Help Needed (Tapping into Speed Sensor)

I'm trying to install '06M Civic AVN onto '02 non-Navi TL-S and I need some help. I figured out everything, but one wire. Does anyone know the best way to tap into the vehicle speed sensor? I'm sure I could simply tap in through the speedometer wiring, but I'm not sure on which wire to tap into. Does anyone have a pinout diagram for the instrument cluster (diagram for the back of the speedometer)? I need to hook this wire up to get the navi function right. If you have such document or know which wire to tap into, please let me know! I'm planning on doing the installation on this weekend.

Thanks

Does that provide constant information or only for when the cruise control is engaged? It would be greatly appreciated if you could confirm that and could let me know the exact location. Thanks.

I tapped the same wire that JMAL did, works a lot better w/o having to remove the entire instrumental cluster.

Since you have an 02, the easiest place to get it from would probably be on the passenger side of the dash down at the bottom behind the carpet and below the radio. So if you were sitting in the passenger seat, down by your left foot. Remove the plastic kick panel to access the side of the radio area. At the bottom there will be a silver box (PCM) with 4 harnesses going into it. 3 gray and 1 blue. The gray one all the way on the left is a 32 pin harness, that's the one you want but there is no need to unplug it. You are looking for the blu/wht from pin 9. It will be between a blk/wht and a brn wire. This is the same one that I tapped into when I did my OEM Nav install and it worked for me. Good luck. PM me if you have any questions.

thanks everybody! JMAL, please let me know. As for others' suggestion, is it easy to remove the side panel? Or, do I have to remove that either way to access and to remove the HU?

It's only 1 or 2 screws to remove the kick panel. Very easy. If you are accessing the headunit you will be able to have some limited access to the back of it from the kick panel but if you need to really get in there you will have to remove the entire HU to be able to see what you are doing a little better.

Did it fit nicely or you had to modify things around for it to fit?

The AVN fit just about perfect (flush with the face plate). I took the stock HU (TL's) apart and used its face plate. I'm not totally satisfied with the outcome of the face plate fabrication, but for now it's good enough (sanded little bit too much on the sides). Other than fabricating the face plate, the AVN bolted as if it was meant for TL. If you're interested, I can post some pics later.
