Help Help Help Help...

Hello TL owners,

Just got my car last week, loving it loving it, but there is a problem that I can't figure out. After about 10 minutes in stop and go traffic, it will make this noise that sounds like Morse Code back in the day. The noise sometimes comes from the back, and sometimes from the front, but if I tap the break it will momentarily goes away. At first it only did it once in a while, but now it does it constantly after about 10 minutes of driving. I wonder if any of TL owners has had this problem before, and what to expect when I bring it to the dealer???.

Thanks

Thanks you guys,

Your helps have been really informative for me, now I will know what to expect when I bring my car to the dealer. Any other comments will greatly be appreciated, I know this problem exists for some of the TL owners in here... please keep them coming guys. I will update you when I bring my car to the dealer Monday.

This is a complete shot in the dark here but it is an attempt to help. By any chance would you have a digital mobile phone close to the radio would you? Sometimes the digital signal pulsing when phones make a tower changeor signal change will actually be audible oer the radio making a clicking noise. A simple check is to turn the phone off and wait for it to happen. Again completely a shot in the dark but speaking form experience in a different car, not my TL-S. I adnmit it doesn't sound plausible if the sound goes away with a tap of the brakes but who knows.

I agree with tabraha. My digital phone does cause audio interference, and the position of the phone may make it worse.

MikeyB that may be the motor mounts which is normal for some TL's, on later models is fixed. Read that on a post awhile back. Is not a defect, just alittle annoying.

Mikey, that groaning sound is your ABS system doing a self test. It does it twice, once when you start moving, and again when you hit about 5 MPH or so.

hey Xcited50,
The problem your hearing is coming from inside your head so mine advice to you is you're need to see a shrink but not a mechanic. Problem solve, heheheheeh.

Is this comedy or irony?

Cool

Hello all,

The dealer has found a problem on my car, it is a front wheel bearing that has gone bad. The mechanic is working on it right now, and I've got a rental car. So that is the update for right now.
