Help: Eibach Pro Kit

Help: Eibach Pro Kit

OK guys, I am really confused. I need some help..

I have had trucks for 10 years prior to getting my 03 TL Type S and the more I read about lowering, the more confused I get.

I was leaning towards the HR sports and them I decided on Comptech and now I am leaning towards the Eibach Pro Kit.

Here is what I want to accomplish. I just put on 18's with 225/40/18 rubber and want to kill some of the fender gap that I have. I don't want to make my ride much different either. I was alos hoping I would NOT need to buy a camber kit or coilovers. I don't care about how great my car will take turns at 60 miles an hour, just want to have a nice ride..

I also found a place in the DFW area called Jotech that will install the Eibach Pro Kit for $400 including tax and install. Is that a good price? I have heard installing these on a TL is a **tch..

Let me know if you guys think Eibach would work for my needs..

I already replied to your thread on the other forum, but i'll reply here as well.

The Eibach Pro Kit is by far the lowest springs out there. I know, cause I had it. It sags in the rear, which is ok, if you want a lower look. and the Pro Kits aren't the smooth either.

Also $400, is that just install or with springs? either way, that's too much money. and for installing it on a TL, it's not that much harder than it is on the Accord. I don't think it's that hard at all. You have to remove the rear seat to do this. I get charged $80 to install springs, and I have friends down here still *****ing about the price. You can always do it yourself! There is a tutoral(sp?) here that can guide you thru it.

Personally, I say you go for H&R Sports, it's a nice low drop, that takes away the fender gap, and it's very smooth for that kind of drop, cause the springs are progessive. Comptech is smooth also, but gives you the rake look, low in the front and high in the rear.

So in other words, I vote for H&R! It's priced relatively cheap, nice drop, and smooth.

This is my Pro Kit drop and H&R, you can tell the Eibach is lower.

Thanks for taking the time to post. I am for sure leaning back towards the HR Sports and at $150 delivered, the price cannot be beat..

I also went with the H&R Sports and I love them... nice even drop .

I paid about $200 for install... but that's NY for you. If you have a lot of shops in your area you should be good for about $100-$150. Unfortunately I do not have many shops around me... so this is what I paid.

Anyway, with the 18" rims I'm installing a camber kit. There is the smallest, slightest tilt on the rear wheels... so I figured better safe then sorry... so I bought the kit. Pretty much every person who bought the H&R Sports did not need the camber kit.. but for some reason, with my setup... I did. The drop ended up being around 1.75"/1.75" and rides great.....

hemants, agreed, the H&R Sports looks lower for some reason. All my friends says it looks lower than the Pro Kits. But I measured the car, and it was a fact that the H&R sports we're higher than the Pro Kits. Talk about puzzling. But I love how my car looks now.

i don't know, but i'm good with my prokits. great drop and rides well. paid $200 for them and another $80 for the install in the socal area.

if you search the gallery forum, you can find the thread on my car and the links to my photo albums...i'm at work right now and on a different computer so i don't my links handy (ie, lazy!!! ), but i can post later.

The H&R sports are very close to the stock ride. I love em, not to bouncy (w/stk shocks).

ok well... i have a 2003 ssm tl-s. i also have it with eibach pro kit. i have no idea what the difference in ride is since i got it from the dealer with the drop. but... as of now i love it. it rides smooth and its not bouncy at all. in the back u can stick about a finger and a half and in the front about 2 and a half.

someone want to help me out and tell me where I can find the H&R springs at a good price? Jim, 150 shipped? WHERE? Also, if I got the springs do any of you know if it will rub, I'm getting some Konig Absolute rims with Nitto 555 225/40/18 tires. I will be very pissed if afterwards it rubs. Any suggestions? Thanks

also, are you guys talking about the OE, Race, or Sport springs by H&R? because all of them have different lowering heights?

if you are gettings 18s, that's a good tire size choice but rubbing will pretty much depend on the rim width and associated offset. you got that info???

yea the rims are 18x7.5 and the offset is 45. Anyone know if I'm going to experience rubbing with the H&R sport springs? I have the OEM body kit too. Any ideas?

18x7 1/2 w/45 offset will be fine with the sports. I have the exact same setup, and all you have to do is trim the plastic tabs.

i got the springs, rear camber kit, installation and alignment done at discount tires in el monte...otherwise known as www.wheeloptions.com . most shops in the san gabriel/rosemead area will lower a car for about $80.
