Help:Check Engine Light is On after Spark Plug Install
Hi,
I just installed new NGK Iridium plug. First, I forget to connect the connecter (closest to the passanger side) to the boot, I turn on the engine and heard the misfire. I go back to reconnect that one and everything looks fine. I did not drive this car for a week after the install and today when engine is idle I saw white smoke and water coming out from tail pipe for a minute. I pull out the car from garage and couple seconds after I speed up, my check engine and TCS light both comes on.
I restart the engine, the TSC goes off but check engine light is still on. And TCS will comes out once a while. What's going on? My car is very smooth and cannot "feel" anything wrong.
Is the check engine light comes on for the first misfire due to the missing connector? If so, why the check engine light comes on after so long? Should I worry about it and just reset the ECU? What if the problem is something else and will the check engine light will come on again or just hidden due to reseting?
Thanks for help.

Check to make sure all your coil packs are back on properly since this is happening after you replaced the spark plugs. IF that doesn't work take it to a parts store and have them read the code to see what it is.
Try resetting it. If it comes back Bring it to get tested at one of your favorite parts stores and get a code. Other wise we are just guessing.
*** and we all know how that goes, you will get some numbnutz to say its your tranny***

You have the check engine light AND the TCS light on??? That sounds like the...
coil pack plug that's not fitting tightly (no - wasn't going to write TRANNY). You need to get the codes though.

I got all coil pack reinstalled and disconnect the battery last night...both light went off. I also just got back from Autozone and that's what I got
Code: Pass
MIL: Pass
I/M Monitor: Pass ( first time I had catalysis NOT ACTIVE and retest to show pass
)
I tested everything w/ engine off and key on
That means I have no problem??? Shouldn't the code will be store in the memory even it's off afterward?
Thanks.

Kris, how do you reset the computer w/o disconnect the battery? I guess I need to drive for a while ^^ to see if it comes back. I am still on my first tranny; hope it's not that problem.....
One last question, if the light does not come back, does it mean I will be fine?
