hi guys. pulley install. i cant seem to figure out the belt adjustment. does anyone know how to loosen the belts. 2003tls thanks

 

For the alt./compressor belt use a 14mm wrench to pull the tensioner back off the belt and you can remove it (I find that it's easier if you release the P/S fluid reservoir and move it to the side). For the P/S belt you'll need to loosen the 12mm adjusting nut toward the top of the pump, there's a 12mm lock nut under the pump you'll have to loosen and then a 12mm bolt toward the rear of the pump that needs to be loosened to let the pump pivot.

I am impressed how did the pulley installation part of it go? A DIY would be great for when I can finally do mine. (when I get past payment of my speeding ticket, hehehehe)

 

i thought i did that on the p/s belt, but doesn't seem to move after nuts are loosened. mabe i missed a nut. this is the very top pulley we are talking about right? thanks for responding. another question, does the dealer sell the little black grommet plastic deals that hold the wheel covers. one of them broke when i removed it?
