Hey guys Im really nervous here, I was driving home tonight went to get some gas came out of the gas station on my way and I look down and all of a sudden my Check Engine Light and my TCS light come on at the same time, I pull over thinking that maybe if I turn it off then back on it may take care of the problem but when I turned it back on the CEL came back on, so I said ok well at least the TCS isnt, but low and behold after about a minute, it came on too. I dont have the money for this.... I really dont what could it be??? Has anyone ever had this happen??? Please anyone please let me know...

Take it to Autozone and have the code scanned. It is normal for the TCS light to come on with the CEL, so no worries there. Without a code no one can help you.

 

The code was P0401 it said something about EGR, I just had a new vavle and port clean no later than 8 months ago, it seems to happen like this though, whenever youre about to be alright something else comes up......

 

I would take it back to where you had it done... my car went 140k plus miles before i had to clean my port out and i just cleaned all of it out i didnt do the valve i just cleaned it out

 

if you recently had the egr work done and its back again, id bring it back to who ever did it. It shouldnt have plugged up that fast again

 

I'm most likely reaching here. I remember reading or hearing about some cars where if you left your gas cap off or if your gas cap was on incorrectly that sometimes some warning lights come on. Since you said you just got gas it came to mind. Sometimes its not on tight etc.

 

that does happen as well. Im not sure what code it throws though. He may want to try double checking that the cap is on tight, then resetting the ecu
