I need to replace the front brake pads on ny 01' TL and I have been getting the run-around. Some dealers call the pads ceramic, some say semi-metalic. NAPA is about half the dealer price but they call theirs full ceramic. What are the OEM pads and which are the best. Any tips also, thanks.

 

The OE pads would be semi-metallic, not ceramic. One of the 'gurus' here will have to give you the info as to pros/cons of each, or direct you to a thread that I'm sure has been done on that subject, but different manufacturers use different materials, even within the sub-category of 'ceramic' or 'semi-metallic'. From what I'm reading here EBC Green Stuff seems to be a favorite, but there are others as well.
