Hi, I have a 1999 TL and I was wanting to buy a pair of the Type-S headlights, have them cleared, and install them. Would there need to be any modifications done because I have a 1999 TL, or would the fit fine? I like the look of the newer headlights, and I was just wondering if they would fit. THANKS!

 

not a chance....need to customize hood, fenders, bumper and diff brackets....

 

I second was Arn 2000 TL said. Can't be done... you would be better off buying a 2002-2003 TL/TL-S. Out of curiosity... why did you specify "Type S Headlights?" The S' headlights are the same as the TL-P

 

I thought the Type-S headlights were different. I guess I'm wrong. Well then who thinks that just clearing my 1999 TL's headlights would look hott? Any opinions would be great. Also, I've heard about painting the headlights black on the inside or whatever...what do you guys think about that?

You could go either route... Having them cleared is still an option and makes a world of difference. There is a member of this board who clears them professionally. I have seen pictures of 99'-01' TL's with their headlights cleared and it looks beautiful.

For your color, I think that is the best choice. You could paint the housing (either in black or heather mist) but I dont think it would look good.

Whatever you do the most important thing is that YOU are happy with it.

I have my headlights cleared. Looks great. Very happy with it. Prob look better if I did the black housing too

 

Tatewaki...what would you think about a Heather Mist car...should I just clear them, clear and paint the housing black, or clear and paint the housing heather mist? Opinions would be great!!
