i bought some used DC Sport headers from a fellow az member thinking that they would fit. i think they were off a 2001 TL and i tried putting them in my 2002 TL-S. the back header didnt fit. it was hitting the trans. should the headers fit or am i doing something wrong.

On the DC headers i installed for someone i had to remove the rear motor mount bracket to get it to fit. Its a pain in the ass.

Also, make sure you have the front collector on the front and back on the back. They look similar but they are not the same.

I installed the DC headers (the older version) on my 2002TLS and it fit just fine. Like AMGala said, you have to make sure the which corrector to put in front and which one for the rear. It was a pain to put the collectors in but I managed to get them in without removing the engine mount.

Cheers !!!

The set i installed was not going on without the mount bracket removed. It was a pain, and yes i had the front and rear correct.

just for future references: has anyone noticed this fitment problem when installing the actual 02-03 headers on the 02-03 models and not using the older model ones?

are the DC headers your using the 2 bolt or the 3 bolt pattern? I heard that they came out with the 3 bolt design a couple of months ago, and those are way better than the 2 bolt.

or am i just imagining that?

Yes there is a 3 bolt design, but thats just the flange area where the y pipe bolts up. That should have no change on the rest of it

but the headers are the same for both. The only car that got a different header was the CL-S 6speed

No. Only the XS and the Comptech (the ones designed for the 6 speed)
