Maintainance Required light - how to turn off?

Hi,

My better half drives a 98 Honda Accord. From what I know, its similar setup to my 03 TL. I have both check engine and maint req light both next to each other.

Does anyone know how to reset that light, its very annoying.

Thanks a bunch.

the maitenance light is mileage triggered from last reset- I think its 6000 or 7000 miles and then it starts blinking at strtup to remind you of oil change due.
The Check Engine means something is actually wrong. Could be a sensor or many things
Take it to any major type parts stores and ask them to pull the codes.
Under the panel between seat heat controls is a plug in for the tester
Get back to us with the codes and change the oil, run some engine cleaner thru it right before changing too.

owner manual link for free- it has directions to reset
https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...01_OMANUAL.asp
basically its:
left hand thru steering wheel to push both trip and reset buttons, and with your right hand turn key to on but not to start
light should flash about 10 seconds and go off
you are now oil minder reset

fix the other prob and cel will self clear, or clean battery cables and terminals which will reset the ECU and see how it runs- may clear it that way
Know your radio and nav security codes before battery disconnect
