Header, exaust, intake?!?

I plan on getting a CAI, but from what I hear, CAI is back, because of puddles and stuff. So, I was gonna get the ice box intake, which I assume is just as good. Is it? Now, I'm gonna buy that and an exaust my next paycheck. So, what exaust sounds the deepest and gives the most power with a Box intake, and the future promise to my car for a comptech header.

I guess what I'm asking, is; Do we have an option of getting a better exaust for the money? Like, getting one made up. The axle backs are kinda, well, not alot of product for the money. We only pay for like, mufflers. Hehe. I figure that if I get everything, it will give my car a nice boost in HP, and give it nice sound. Thanks for the input,

-Paul-

Ok here we go. CAI is not bad. You have to submerge the ENTIRE thing underwater to get hydrolock. Secondly, you can just put a bypass valve on. It WORKS. proven. The guy who designed it put it on his own NSX and put the filter underwater and ran it. About exhaust..they don't do much for TLs. Why? Our stock systems are large enough in diameter to minimize backpressure already. Instead, i suggest some obx or comptech headers. They will give you much better gains. Good luck.

i agree with spyder5786 the exhaust wont give you much for hp gains. i would instead get the obx header for the same price as an exhaust, actually less than a exhaust and alot more in the hp gains.
just my .02

So, skip the exaust, and get an OBX header??
Where can I get one of those?
I would like to make the back end of my car look better, I figured an exaust would do that. If it's already big enough to handle the pressure, then I guess I could just get the header. But does the header run only 600 bucks?

Thanks, -Paul-

There has to be a reason the OBX are 800 dollars less.... Wouldn't they do not so good of a job?
It only makes sense to me. I don't think I'm comfortable getting a header that costs 350 bucks. There must be a reason comptech has them for 1000 bucks...

Like people said is this forum- comptech probally had to spend alot of money for research and development and OBX just copied theirs. It happens all the time.

yeah..main difference is comptech is stainless steel throughout, and obx is just the coating..

Comptech are better built and higher quality. Performance is not that different. OBX has resonance issues. It all depends on what you're looking for.

Search for prior threads - much discussion prior.

Do a search, its been coverd. The design is the same, there is a handfull of members that are running the OBX and are satisfied with the results. Comptech will allways be up there in price.

I paid 1000+ for comptech but I had them in for like for the longest time....when I was getting them, I never heard of OBX....if I did, I'd go for the cheaper price. Comptech are very reliable
