Has my tranny been replaced??

I checked in on my Acura owners page. i'm looking at the recall portion since i just got my airbag inflator module letter, and i look at the 00-04 Cl/TL 5spd auto trans recall and the status says: FIXED.
Does this for sure mean its been replaced???

No, it does not mean your tranny was replaced.

The recall was just to install an additional part onto the transmission-the "oil jet". However, if your tranny showed damaged consistent with what's described in the recall & you had >15k miles, yes, you got a new tranny. More than likely you just got the oil jet though.

For sure, the only way I got to find out if my tranny was replaced was by going to an Acura dealer and handing them my VIN. Corporate Acura cant access the database to confirm that.

I called the Customer Service @ 1-800-382-2238 and gave my VIN

they can check in the system to see what was done, they were able to tell me how many miles were on my car when the " jet kit " was put on

the jet kit was a " band aid " or quick fix as I have read, really from what i have seen is that with good fluid replacement, some have held up well... mine seems to be running great so far, I just plan to do a fluid replacement every other oil change and cross my fingers that it lasts

all you got on recall was the oil jet kit, its not the same issue as the clutchpack wearout which is the court issue

if covered VIN on `trans extended warranty` it will say that in another line of text

iirc there is not a miles limit on replacement of trans-- if today-- you went in for the recall kit install and they find the right heat damage to specific areas- free transmission!

easy DIY method of telling replaced on warranty- bolt heads on main trans bolts are painted blue
