Has anyone had any problem with the updated tranny

Has anyone had any problem with the updated tranny for 2002 TL-S?
I was told that an update was released last november AFTER my last blown transmission was replaced.

I just wonder if it's true and if the updated version holds up over the last 20+k miles for people. (for those who drive a lot)

My first one lasted 30k and the second one lived 20k miles.

I don't even drive all that hard. I almost never use the sequential shift, either.

My 03 TL-S was first sold in 11/02, it has 19K miles and the tranny is fine (so far).

I had my first tranny replaced this May ('02 TLS). I've put about 5000 miles or so and now my second tranny is "acting up" (hard shifting from 2nd to 3rd, slipping, etc). It's not happening all the time yet, but I give it at most 2 more months before I visit the dealership to have it replaced again.

So the update doesn't work.
Thanks guys, that's all I needed to know.

The car still works fine most of the time. I just wanted to decide if I should trade it in or sell it to my aunt at trade in value.
If the transmission still has problems, I am not selling this thing to my aunt.

If my wife let me buy that yellow s2000, I wouldn't have this problem....again, today

But I thought 2003 TL's had new tranny's?

Maybe the ones they are replacing TL's with are refurbished and the same old tranny with problems, and its really the 2003's that have the new ONE..

Also I Hope this problem is not in the 2004 TL

Doesn't this qualify you for a replacement car under Lemon Law policy??? Just a thought.

Ya and this way Emu can get the 2004 TL

But what does the Lemon Law Help you do?

The dealer just buys the car back from you for its value.. You could just go trade the car in somewhere else or sell it and get the same amount right?

I have mine with the new computer...it's now got 8k miles on it and I drive the shi+ out of my car. Not one ounce of any problems at all...It appears to be fine and just as smooth as the day it was installed...Better than new...

My second one worked better than new when I got it (maybe I was used to all the knocking). It still failed after 21k.
I will be on the 3rd one....soon I hope. This rental is laboring hard.
I wonder if this thing even has 100 HP.
