Has anyone checked out this site?

WWW.NHTSA.DOT.gov This site contains the service bulletins, recalls and complaints for the TL. Man, there are a lot of service bulletins. Are these things that we should have the dealer check? I was thinking to print the list off and take it to the dealer at my next appointment and ask them to check these things.

i brought a TSb to a dealer a once..
for the middle console armrest.

2 pieces.

if the armrest is squeaky..there's a fix.

the partsguy was like..huh.

its not the same as a recall.

TSBs are known problems with suggested fixes i.e. squeaky seats, leaking moonroofs, fogging up headlights, etc. If you want those to be addressed, be prepared to be charged for the service unless the dealer does it for free as a goodwill gesture; dealers are not obligated to fix TSB items for free.

Recalls are safety related items i.e. defects with door latches, airbags, seat belt, fuel systems, steering, tires, etc. that NHTSA and/or USDOT feels are so hazardous to the motoring public that they mandate the product manufacturer to correct the condition for free or else get sanctions levied against them.

These issues, as well as complaints lodged by consumers, are tracked by NHTSA and USDOT.
