hard to park when backing up
When I test drove the TL-S I couldn't really see the end of the car. I don't use the side mirrors this time and therefore didn't know how much room I had. Had the same problem with the Monte Carlo. You guys managed?

No offense, I just wonder how tall are you. My wife was complaining about that when test-driving the car. I think the rear spoiler (which I added) helps her to see the end of the car (as suggested by pianoman41).

I never thought of the spoiler helping, but I was thinking of getting a lip spoiler and that just makes me want it more. I use the tilting passenger mirror to see where my back tire is. Maybe one of those elliptical mirrors on the drivers outside mirror would help more? But, a little tacky.

I have to say that my TLS is a lot harder to back up accurately than my previous car, a 97 Accord. I think it's because you can't see either the front end or the rear end of the car, what with the downward sloping rear deck. Also, there are a lot of curves in the interior which makes it a little difficult to see exactly how the side of the car lines up.
I find that the tilting side mirror is a huge help. I can now back into parking spots with better precision because I can see my rear wheel.
I'm still having trouble gauging exactly how wide the car is, though. I think I've got it to within 5" now. I like to slide dead center into each parking spot, and I still find myself several inches too close to one side or another. I always hit dead center in my Accord.
Just being anal retentive!

Sorry if I offend, but curb feelers? Eeewwww..... too tacky! Only old fogies use them (and utterly hopeless drivers-which in no way am I implying that you belong to this group!). The only way you get it right is practice, practice, practice. If you parallel every day, it should become second nature to you.
