Well... the way that Audi's achieve that color/tint is not through different bulbs or HID systems. They use Projectors, which alter the look of the light output and give that purplish look from a distance. The only way to replicate this would be to retrofit projectors into your Headlights, a task that isn't too hard and can be done but dont know if worth while.

Most of us on the forum just switch out our bubls to a higher Kelvin rated bulb. In particular, Phillips 6000K Ultinons. This will give you that look about 80% with that purplish hue. However you will lose a little bit of usable light on the road. For most people including myself its not a big deal, but just letting you know. I'd defenitely recommend it, it looks sick!!

Yeah its very slight. I recommend not going anything higher than 6000K, cuz then the loss of light will be apparent. But if you line up any car with stock HID's which is at 4300K and another car, maybe yours at 6000K you can see that his car will throw more light out on the road, both wider and further. They refer to this light in terms of lumens (amount of usable light) and it diminishes as you go up in the Kelvin scale. Some people are under the huge misconception that more Kelvin means more light, this is not TRUE!

It depends on the year. 02-03's will be easier to do because the lenses are clear. If you do the labor yourself, it can cost as little as $100 for projectors plus another $60 or so for new bulbs (D2S). I did a retro on my MDX and love it. But that was going from halogen to HID. I wouldn't do it on my 01 TL. YMMV.
