Today on the way home from school, i was at a light that is on the parkway. As i was slowing down, a grand am gt pulls next to me. It was the current body style. I looked over because the car was red and it catches my eye. As i look at the car i notice the driver sees me and he inches up. I stay where i am and just wait. The turns green. His tires spin and so do mine. I left it in D and just gunned it. By the time i was doing 80 i was ahead by a lot. I dont know the car length. Then we caught another light together and waited for it to turn green. This time i could hear him break torqueing<sp?>. As the light turned green he jumped on me, because i just hit the gas. My bumper was at his front wheel until i hit vtec, then it was over. Part 2 of this destruction was complete. I felt pretty good, because my friend with a Grand Am SE v6 has been talking trash because he has a borla muffler on it. I never wanted to waste my time, and now i know i can whoop him bad. Give me my damn cookie now!

Maybe this is a dumb question, but what is brake torqueing?

 

Just make sure you watch out for the GTP's. Those things are 240hp stock. My friend has a complete stock '97 GTP with 70k on it and one nigth we raced (read what i have in my sig) and he beat me by a car length or more each time, plus he has great accerlation while moving as well....we were both doing about 60 and he would punch it and rocket off, while i had to downshift to 3rd to even compare to him and he still had the gain on me......plus they have the option for air intakes, etc.. as well.

 

Brake torqueing is when you hold down the brakes and at the same time revving up your engine to a certain rpm's to have a faster launch off the line.
