got my replacement mirror in today

I emailed Magna Donelly (spelling) and got a response about 2 weeks later, then recieved a phone call stating they were going to ship my mirror. I called them and gave them my address and today my mirror arrived!

I called Acura and asked how much to install the mirror and they asked me if i need to buy one, so I told them what I did. The guy was almost laughing hysterically and said that they would have changed it under good will since I have 55,000 miles on the car. I told him that I was supposed to get it from the company that makes the mirror (which is what i learned here) and he said that it was ridiculous and they would have changed it.

At least I still have a free mirror, but they want to charge like $40.00 to install the new one.

Either way I am pleased that MagnaDon sent me the new mirror without asking me any questions except what address.

If your original mirror is still covered under warranty, then yes -- Acura would've replaced it free of charge.

Do a search for other threads on this topic. Someone put instructions for how to take off the old mirror. Pretty easy - did it myself and saved the labor $. I agree, Magna Donnelly was awesome when I had the same problem and asked for a replacement mirror.

Yes, I did contact them directly. Go onto their website or try emailing Jean Glover at Jean.Glover@magnadon.com to explain your situation. She was really helpful. Good lcuk.

I am getting a replacement sent to me as well. When I spoke with the rep on the phone, I asked if they these mirrors have a limited life? She said they had some bad batches that never worked correctly. I assume that Acura is aware of this and is replacing the mirrors under "good-will" policy.

Good-will means pay us $40 for 10 min of labor and we will install a free replaement mirror for you.

Did I mention this site rocks!

good will acura dealers my a$$

I had my car in for the 100k service interval and my mirror was one of the things that I wanted replaced (as it had the leak syndrome). Acura charged me 100 for the mirror and the 'labor' to install it.
I only wish that this thread was composed several months ago bummer

later,

Axe
