Exclamation Is this a good quote for mod installations?

I was quoted the figure of $777 for installation of springs, sways, and headers if they're done at the same time. This is from David McDavid Acura of Austin, TX. I figure I might be able to do the sways myself, but how does this figure compare to what you guys have seen elsewhere? Broken down, it's $333 for the springs, $222 for the sways, and $222 for the headers. Are they trying to take me for a ride here? Thanks for any help.

Take a look at this link. This is a dealer about 40 miles from me or so. Two of the guys who work at this dealer are on the board (wayneg and Jens). Check out their price list. It looks like you're getting a good deal on the headers only. The springs are close, but you're getting ripped on the sways. I total it out at $515. Take a look....

Hmm... that does look like a bad deal having seen those prices at parkaveacura. Anyone know if installation prices are lower at any of the dealers in Houston or San Antonio? I guess I could do the sways myself, but I'm not sure if the warranty would be voided if I got the stuff installed elsewhere.

I got a quote for the springs at $200 and the sway for $150. No quote on headers. I did the springs/sways/pulleys/intake myself.

It shouldn't matter where you get it installed, the warranty won't be voided. The only way they can void the warranty is if you bring it in for work and they can prove, without a doubt that that specific part caused the problem. It's almost impossible to prove it that absolutely, so don't sweat it....

Anyone heard anything about Colvin Automotive in Austin, TX for mod installations? Through David McDavid, it's $2656 for parts & installation for the sways, springs, & headers. That's a bit high since I can get the parts through ACP for $1735. If not Colvin, are there any other reputable shops for mod installation in Austin TX or the surrounding area?

I got a quote for $500 to install the headers only. I think you are getting a good deal.

I also got a quote of $500 to install headers from my dealer. However, I think they are out of their mind. Everyone else I have seen has paid $150-250 for header installation.

Well, I went ahead & installed it all myself - didn't take too long, considering these were my first major mechanical modifications to a car of mine. I put on CAI, sways, springs, and new tires/wheels. Aside from a minor rubbing issue I hope to resolve soon, I think it went rather well... and I saved myself about $600-900 in installation costs the dealer wanted to charge me.

I just had my headers and springs installed last Thursday, cost me $433 for both. This also included the alignment. She looks sweet!

pv22clif, I'm not too sure about that. Once I heard it was close to $1000, I decided to do it myself and wait to see if I needed an alignment afterwards.
