Gonna purchase a CAI....

I think I am gonna go with the Injen CAI but I have a couple questions first. What is the purpose of getting a Short Ram if it is only going to suck in the hot engine bay air? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Also, if I get this intake how much will I have to worry about water getting up in it? Is that what an air bypass valve does, keep the water out?

Sorry for all the noob questions, I just want to get this right. Thanks.

If you have a non type-S, I'd go with the AEM V2 if you have the money for it.

I have the short air ram for 1.5 years now. Contrary to my initial belief that it will suck hot air in the engine bay, it seems to be doing pretty well. When your car is moving, the cooler air is getting into the engine bay thru the 'absent' intake resonator and though the seams of the front and hood.
I went with the short air ram because of flooding issues that I may potentially face. I rather have hot air in the engine rather than water being sucked up during heavy rainfall or potential puddles.
To each his own..
