Gold Door Handles

I recently aquired a 2000 Acura TL Naples Gold with the Gold Emblems on front and back, gold "A" wheel caps, and it even came with gold exhaust pipes (I think they are made by Acura). My question for you guys today is can I somehow find gold door handles?

You may be thinking to yourself, Gold on Gold, well naples Gold isn't exactly gold, it's more of a silverish beige. It looks bad ass IMO and I didn't have to pay any extra (already there when I bought it). I will post some pictures as soon as I get it back as it has already been towed to the Acura dealership because the transmission dropped to 2nd with a Suburban driving behind me while I was going 60. I will find out tomorrow what's up on that but of course that is a different story.

If the gold handles aren't out there, does anyone have a tip on painting them somehow?

I actually have seen gold handles on a FPR. Look into one of those gold plating place that do auto emblems they usually do that kind of stuff. It actaully looked good on the FPR

I wouldn't dare, I meant the gold like the emblems. Plating or a paint that looks like gold plating is what I was thinking. Is it hard to remove the door handles?

I know what you're thinking but it looks really good on NGM, I will have some pictures for you to look at as soon as I get my car back from the dealership (tranny problems in first 1000 miles of owning it, yay). I've gotten more looks from the ladies in this car than any car I've ever owned. It's not all about that though, I like it myself too.

Let me guess, an old man or woman had the car prior to your purchase?

Funny that you would ask, yes, an old woman drove my car prior to me (I'm happy about that, it's in damn near perfect condition and I doubt she drove it hard). I like the look of the gold though so I'm gonna keep it and maybe elaborate on it. The gold exhaust tips are bad and once I cleaned them they look beautiful. My car is in for a new tranny so as soon as it's back I will have some pictures. Naples gold metallic and gold trim go well together!!!!!!!!!

I've got NGM and really don't think it will look good with the all the gold, but who knows. Def. post some pics, very curious to see it. Personally, I'm going for NGM with black accent theme.

According to the dealership my car will be ready on Wednesday. I will have pictures for you guys then. Hopefully my car shifts like a dream or else I will be pissed. Does anyone ever have them take longer than they say to install it? They said it's coming in on Monday and will be installed by Wed. And if it's the Acura dealership installing it will it be the new tranny that people haven't had fail yet?

I still haven't decided on the door handles, in fact I may have backed off for now. We will see once I get it back, I need to call and get a quote from some kind of gold plating place. To the guy that has the gold emblems on the NGM, if you have stock exhaust I highly recommend buying the Acura gold exhaust tips. Keep them clean and they sure are pretty. I think they go for 80 or so. They go so well with the gold emblems on the NGM.

LOL! I have gotta see these NGM's with gold trim. I've seen the trim and I know it's darker than the paint by quite a bit, so maybe it does look alright. My tints will be on my ride on Tues (20% all around), then I'll post some pics for you guys.

Oh and welcome to A-zine Jcansore50. Must've missed your introduction. We need more ppl with FPR and NGM on here for sure.

I figured what's an introduction on a car site without pictures.. So I've been waiting until I get my girl back from the shop. Thanks for the welcome, and I'm glad to be here. My life was getting boring and I needed something fresh to keep me happy and here I have it, a highly modable car with a awesome forum to talk about it on. I don't miss my eddie bauer explorer at all...
