Going nuts

2003 TL-S satin silver. Purchased used 6 weeks ago. So far so good, getting about 23 miles to the IMPERIAL gallon (about 28-29 U.S. gallon) and that is guesstimated as 80% city, 20% highway. Two things to whine about ....
(1) The ability to return driver's seat to preset location is great but I often slide the seat back so I don't hit my ample gut when exiting. This will soon get worse when I have to don winter jackets etc. When I return, the car senses that it is key #1 or #2 and by the time the door is opened the seat is back up close and tight. Why the hell didn't they program it so that the seat does not return until the key is inserted in ignition?
(2). When I look in the rear view mirror I see the BOSE logo "floating" in the rear window. It is the right way around so it is not the reflection from the top rear speaker. I cannot see anything when looking from the outside in thru the rear window. What am I missing here? Chris Angel where are you when I need you?

1. just going to have to get used to it.

2. it is the reflection. first it reflects onto the window making it backwards then it hits your mirror making it correct agian. if you take if off the sub it will be gone.

Question 1: You can turn this feature off. Push the lock & unlock function at the same time to link or unlink the seat reposition feature. Congrats on your new car & welcome to the forums.

Assuming you don't have others driving the car...

Set seat memory 1 to your driving seat position and set seat memory 2 to your ingress/egress seat position. Or, I think you can reset the seat memory function, which is disabled by default, by disconnecting the battery. What ^^ he said.

And if the logo bothers you that much, cover it with a piece of dark cloth.

Well just program your preset 1 so it slides the seat back and then just put 2 the way you like it when driving. I have an 00 TL without presets so im taking a guess at how it works since I dont really know.

Quote: just program your preset 1 so it slides the seat back and then just put 2 the way you like it when driving . This was considered but now I have position 2 set for winter driving with bulky coat between my ample gut and the steering wheel. Jeez, is it really that much trouble for me to reset the position once every 5 or 6 months? DUH !! I need to remove my head from my butt I guess.

I understand the theory of reversed images in mirrors.
