Give my support! (maybe)

Well I have always been afraid of clearing the headlights. Well my friend has a 97' Civic Ex. He asked if we could do it. I said to myself "damn good guinne pig I have my self here!" Well it turned out I did the whole think just about i think I did a damn good job with the sealing and everything, even though he has not drove in the rain yet. Wondering if it would be same diffuculty? Week ago we met a guy who offered to clear his headlights for $40. I asked if he could do mine and he said "NO way! I would not try to do it in that car, the gap is too small!" or something like that. Does that make sense or was he just afraid of messing up and have to buy me a new HID headlight? We did them both in about 2 1/2 hours. I did not find it too hard.

It is quite hard on the TL and time consuming, but the end product is very nice .

you will not know how good you did until you was your car or drive in the rain.

Even if he messed up, he can just buy the light housing, no??? I, too, was thinking about clearing it.... but after I took a good look at the headlight housing.... I passed.

I have to disagree - the end product is nice? The end product looks like you tok apart your light and glued it back together! And from the side it is pretty obvious you took out your orange square! I have not seen anyones cleared lights look as nice as factory, thats why I've not done it.

NO NO NO. First I didn't just take the orange reflector out, I painted it silver and put it back. My lights are not perfect if you open the hood and look into the lights housing, but with the hood close you cannot tell the difference between mines and the factory look as for craftmanship.

I think your right. If I you asked me to clear out your headlights, I would not try it. Even if I had done it to mine, ruining someone else's HID's is going to cause some problems. I had a friend clear his headlights on a 99 civic coupe and the right one fogged up like crazy! He just blow dried the inside to get the moisture out and put some more glue on it. Its fine now but the headlight doesn't shine like it used to.
