Getting the mirror off

Ok guys so I am doing something with my mirrors and was wondering if anybody knew how to get the mirrors off?
Like I can get the actual housing off (remove the black a pillar plastic, undo the bolts, unclip the wiring).
But as for accessing the stuff behind it I cant really do that, and I dont really know how, I dont want to mess anything up by ruining the position so the memory settings get fudged up or something.
Anyone got any ideas?

they just pop out with some good pressure. If you are unsure or unwilling to try, most auto glass repair shops will pop them off for you for little money.

Yes, they just pop out. If I remember correctly, there are just two ball/socket thingys holding them on (that and the heated mirror wires). I think I might have used a large flat bladed screwdriver wrapped in a towel or something to pry them off.
I had popped mine out two years ago to repair the corroded mirror heater terminals on the drivers side.

Ok thats a bit of a relief.
And you know while I'm at it I decided to do the inside rear view mirror as well.
I looked at it and The mirror itself seems on their solid.
Looked behind it and got a little black cover off but no screws or anything to get it off.
