OBD bluetooth

Is there an OBD reader that will fit on the plug on a 2001 TL and still be able to put the plastic cover back on with the OBD reader in place.

Picked up a reader without really looking at the location beforehand. Not much room where Acura put it. I want to be able to leave the reader connected, unless this is a problem. Don't want anything to fall into the shift linkage which seems likely without the cover in place if the OBD reader is left in place.

Here is the one I bought.

I know they make smaller ones but I don't know if any are small enough.

I have the same one. I guess my question to you is why do you want to keep it connected? You can have it in the glove box or armrest and pull it out when needed.

I'm not sure any of the bluetooth OBD scanner will fit and be able to put the cover back on.

OP probably wants to pair it with Torque or something.

I don't think the technology is there yet to make a slim model of the OBD bluetooth dongle. The circuit board is straight out so until the update the technology, covering it back probably won't work

Guess I don't want it connected 100% of the time. Would like to connect it and watch some engine parameters while running the torque app.

If just reading codes it would be no issue. Looks like the shift linkage if just under that cover also and don't want to have it open.

Go to the salvage yard and cut out another OBD2 connector port from a junk vehicle, and tap into the stock wiring and place it some where you can get to easily if you need to so you can connect the device and leave it connected. Thats what i did.

Guess that's an option but really more then I want to do.

How much trouble was it to access the wiring harness.
