This is getting to be a big problem....
I will play Devil's advocate here. (Please don't shoot me, I plan to buy one soon).
These were some of my thoughts about the TL-S. I was all over the map and narrowed choice to TL-S or Z06 Vette. (I know- apple versus orange). I decided to get the TL-S and wait for the Vette in another 4-5 years when I approach middle age.
1. I like the performance specs. However, styling is okay but pretty bland unless you buy add-ons. (See www.riceboypage.com). Don't you think it looks like another Honda? I justified lack of style by telling myself I have a fast sleeper car.
2. Depending how much I pay for modifications, I might as well buy a better/faster car.
3. Racing. Most of the of these racing stories were against older cars, 90's muscle cars for example. Also these racing stories are mostly straight-line races. I don't think a TL-S would do that great on a autocross track.
7. Don't forget that car uses premium fuel too.
Again, I hope not to offend anybody, my thoughts are subjective. I think the TL-S is the best car for me at this time. It's my nature to look at pros and cons. Fortunately, the pros outweight the cons.

Seriously, your comments are always welcome. We all know there are pluses and minuses to our cars, and most of us feel as you do, that the pros outweigh the cons on the TLS.

Stork,
Best of luck, and by the way, you should have included the four million ways and products to keep the baby washed and waxed!!!
Long before springs and kits, she'll need cleaning!

I'll have to remember that the TL-s wouldn't do so well at the "autocross track" the next time I stumble onto an autocross track in the course of driving my car. "Holy sh*t honey, were on a f**king autocross track again! How does this sh*t happen?"

I am seriously addicted to this site! It is killing my productivity. I think that I have read every post ever recorded on this board. Even the ones with subjects I have absolutely no interest in. WTF? At any rate, I am a relative newbie and in an effort to summarize what the millions of other posts say (to prevent other newbies from having to read every post)I have created the following:
1. Everyone loves the styling and performance of the TL-S. If you are on the fence, you won't be disappointed.
2. Some people have modified their cars. You know, mostly Comptech stuff. Some people don't like modifications.
3. Because of the above, some people like to race other drivers. Usually they win. A win is called a "kill," or perhaps a "silly kill" if it was no contest. (be careful using "silly kill" as you will draw some doubters)
4. Some people paid MSRP for their TL-S, other people apparently walked into the dealership and were given a free TL-s. Regardless, they are all extremely happy.
5. Birds and rocks and sometimes other drivers will damage your TL-s. They are all A**Holes.
6. Some Tl-s' squeak and rattle and others do not.
7. Some people get 10 mpg., others are getting 45 mpg.
That's all I could think of for now. Hopefully, when I pick my BLK/BLK TL-S w/NAV up tomorrow, I won't feel the need to frequent the site so often, BUT I DOUBT IT!
Later.... Stork

I tell that to my girlfriend and she gives me this, "what if we have a baby in here and you are wipping him around, you will damage his brain and......."
My reply of, "But we don't have a baby in here, we don't even have a baby!" Gets me some beating from her.
Bottomline, take separate cars!

This has been one of the most entertaining boards on this site. Actually laughed outloud a few times. That could be a caffine high though. You also forgot to mention that there is only 2002 ways to break-in a new TL and the all are gospel.

Picked up the car today. Love it. However, I now find myself back on this board. I guess you can't drive the car all the time. As much as I anxiously anticipated this day, I now realize that it has created a deep seated fear of something happening to the car. (ie scratches etc.) I've got problems man. I live in an apartment building with underground parking in downtown Cleveland and have to maneuver the car between to giant brick supports to park it. Took me 20 minutes tonight. I'm not kidding. I used to bounce my Grand Cherokee in there in about 3 seconds. This is ridiculous!!!!

You left out which dealerships treat you like a pawn in the game vs. which are willing and ready to strike a good, quick deal and how to do it.
Figured it's better to pick on the dealer than the car, in a grander carma sort of way
Stork, funny topic. One of the better, more enjoyable posts. Nice one!
