my MIL went on yesterday and was wondering if anyone had this problem (gear position sensor code P1705) i was looking through repair manuals and couldnt find anything about it. the book doesnt even have that trouble code listed in it. i was looking and theres something labeled as a gear position switch was wondering if it the same thing. any suggestions would help

 

I would call the dealer and ask a service guy....might not be able to tell ya but its worth a shot.

 

I checked google real quick and it seems its probbaly tranny related...good luck

P1705: Probably a short in A/T Gear Position switch circuit. As hellas said, it is in the helm manual and there is a long a$$ procedure to troubleshoot this code.
