Thumbs down gauges are in but TONS of problems!!!

Ok I just put the indiglo gauges in but there are many problems with my car now.
1) The RPM needle doesn't work, I think this has to do with the gauge being too thick and the needle gets stuck..
2) the Check engine light stays on...
3)the SRS light stays on also

I dont want to take the car to the dealer because I know they will turn me down or charge me up the a$$ for service:o

also, the maint. required light blinks when i first start the car but it did it before the gauges were installed. what do i do.....

Disconnect your battery for the night and plug it back in. If it's a real problem, the check engine light and TCS light will go off. I did something wehre the CE light came on and I did that and it went off. As for the needles, be careful with those things. My friend was putting in his guages and he screwed up the gas needle.

Ya, you have to be REAL careful when messing with the guages and especially the pins

ok thanx you guys rule I'm going to try and disconnect the battery.
I didn't reallyy mess with the needle too much but its like its catching on something and I can't figure out what it is. The gauges look sweet at night tho, all these problems seemed to take away from my enjoyment of them.
I'll post pics tomorrow...

Seems like a problem that occurs if you try to turn the car on while the guages were unplugged, otherwise those lights dont come on. The SRS light will most likely not get reset by unplugging the battery and has to be taken into the dealer to reset it. I had the same problem and took it to the dealer and said I have no clue why this happened and they did it for free.

I am so freaking screwed, do you guys think I should take the gauges out and take it to the dealer because of the SRS light? Gauges aren't even worth all these problems...

But the airbag won't deploy when you get into an accident.

If I were you, I would take it out & take it to the dealer. It'll be simple false code so it'll be like one, two, three. After they reset the code, install the indiglo gauge again.

(Remember that you should never turn or put your key in ignition when the gauge cluster is not plugged in. )

BTW, no problem

No, the problem is the needle get stuck with the indiglo gauge because it's overlay gauge. If he take out the indiglo gauge, he won't have any problem.

songoku - i know what you're saying, but he said "I think I'm just gonna take em out for good. I will still have the problem with the RPM needle not working," so i assumed it was something other than just getting stuck.

maybe i'm just reading it wrong.

Just reset the check engine light by disconnecting the battery. Then you only have to tell the dealer that the SRS light came on. I have played with the dash a few times and had the SRS light come on. I alwasy take it bake to the dealer and they fix it for free

agean,

Maybe you're right.... I was just assuming

He said he's going to take them out later so he still have indiglo gauge in his car now... So I just assumed that might be the problem.

badazzTL speak up!!

just report it to the dealer. they'll never know you had indiglos in. just have your wife/girlfriend take the car in and play dumb. i used to have my girl do that all the time with my maxima, its amazing what she could get fixed for free.

You didn't pull or push the gauge needle when you installed your indiglo gauge, didn't you??

BTW, I think agean's idea will workl.
