hey guys i recently got one of those ugly garmin gps (i think its c340) and since its against the law to hang it form the wind shield and it looks so ugly on the dash board any1 got any suggestions??? i cant think of any lol.

hey, what state are you in? i'm pretty sure it's legal as long as it does not block the driver's field of view.

you could always put it way up by the mirror, which gives it less of a chance of being seen if that's your worry.

check ebay for a mount that bolts onto the seat bracket and then the gps is down by the center console- you just have to run an external antenna to the window so it gets good signal

 

I have mine mounted on the windshield. No cop is gonna pull over someone with a GPS mounted on the windshield.

 

i'm in CA and i have mine mounted on the left of the windshield. yea, it's illegal but what isn't nowadays?

 

Sometimes there are alternate mounts that clip onto the air vent. Look into one of those.

 

I just leave mine sitting face up in the console cup holder hole, and turn up the volume to max.

 

i bet there is a mount that goes in the cupholder also.

i have a feeling though that if it's towards the bottom of the windshield or by the registration stickers in the lower left corner it's not illegal. it's only illegal if it block your field of view.

like the others said though, i really wouldn't worry about getting pulled over for that. i've had mine on my windshield for about a year and have *never* had any issues here in NY or when i brought it down to Florida and put it in my rental car while i was on vacation in orlando.
