I finally raced a Lude yesterday that beat me.:o I have a 2000 TL with I/H/E and the 5 speed Prelude had at least intake and exhaust, and possibly headers judging by how he pulled. We lined up side by side at a red light but when the light turned green he didn't take off. I was disapointed because I always see this guy driving fast. We were driving side by side for a few seconds when he takes off without warning. I try to catch him but he just keeps pulling. Even though he had a head start I could tell it was a strong pulling car. I get behind him waiting to take a right on an open road where he waits for me to turn before we both gun it. It was pretty close the whole way but he was in front the whole time. The race lasted to about 100 m.p.h. where he was about 1/2 a car length ahead. I would like to race him from a complete stop even though the outcome might not change, it would still be fun. I told my friend to give him a thumbs up and the lude honks back. I like the races where the other car is cool about it afterward, some people are just sore losers. I have raced two other Ludes and beat them badly but I figured one day one with a good driver and decent mods would come along.

 

yeah, those ludes will get you with some mods. Gotta love the power to weight ratio on those things.

 

umm ludes are not that fast..
200hp on a fairly heavy..3100-3200 pound platform isnt that great power to weight ratio.
I hate to break it to u guys but our cars arent that fast. Yes 225hp is quite a good amount..but its mated to an auto tranny. Auto trannies lose a LOT of hp. I estimate that our cars dyno 180hp to the ground(tl-p)

 

thank you captain obvious. its not like he thinks he drives a ferrari, the TL is pretty quick for being a 4 door family sedan.

Wow... this is relevant to me... I own a TL and a Lude- no, Preludes aren't THAT fast but they are still, in my opinion one of the coolest cars ever produced.

 

nice race though! I have only lost to one 5th gen Lude, which is my friend's with a turbocharger...
