Question Front License Plate Removal

What states, if any, is it allowed to legally drive a vehicle without a front license plate? I am specifically wondering about Washington, naturally cause thats where I live. But do other states allow this now? What is the fine, or jail-time, for getting caught without a front plate?

In Washington you need a front plate. I dont have one on. Blaze grill looks better without a plate.

Just tell them that it looks "nasty" with it on the front and he'll let you go...

Put it on your passenger side visor, flip it down and put it in front of it. There problem solved. I've seen a couple of ricers do this.

That's sooooo cheesy... Just run without the plate. In Cali (I think it's about the strictest implementation of this law), they can ticket you for no front plates, but they can't stop you for it, you have to be doing something else, and then it's just a simple $20 fix it fine. Atleast it was last time I heard... I wouldn't worry about it, the cop has got to be super anal to stop you for that IMO.

FYI on putting the plate in your front windshield. If you get rear ended, that plate is going to come shooting back toward you. Happened to two of my friends almost hitting them in the eye.

I know in TX you can usually get the ticket dismissed. ALl you gotta do is put the plate on during your court date and a cop just goes out and looks at your car, then when you get home, just take it off. Ive been caught without my front plates 3 times and all I have been dismissed, but as for my bro he was unlucky and had to pay a $75 fee.

I got busted for this in my old car. I was driving down I-95 on the right lane and there was a speed trap in the median. The cop follows me and pulls me over for not having the front license plate. Punks!

I just pulled out my plate from my back seat and told them that it just fell off and I haven't had the chance to put it back on.

The bad thing was that I forgot my wallet that day and instead of getting me for drivign without a license plate, they got me on failure to display liscense upon demand. Needless to say, it was a bad day.

It really depends on the cops. Some are jerks and some are not. I've been lucky here and got off a few. I was stop for speeding and not stopping at a stop sign and I didn't have a front license plate on my toyota truck. He gave me a warning and told me to slow down and get the plate. That was my luckiest day ever.
