Arrow Front Bumper Shatered? Cold???

So, its quite cold around here, and I decided to take my car to the wash. I get out, drive home, and am drying the car off from the drips. All is well. I leave, go to walgreens, and as Im walking back to my car, I notice the front corner of the bumper is cracked. There are no marks indicating an impact, and it wasnt there when I was drying the car. Any suggestions as to what caused this?

I will get some pics up sometime today.

Thanks,
John

Oh....any idea on how much it will cost for a new bumper?

As I was driving home, a chunk fell off. I managed to turn around and get it back though!

Unless yours was the one in a million bumper that wasn't made right, I'd suspect somebody impacted your bumper. It could have been a clean right angle hit straight on which would lessen the chance of you seeing any damage as you would in a swipe type of hit.

Anyways, my condolences.

My vote is that someone backed into the bumper, as compared to hitting the bumper, and cracked the cover.

well, it was parked in my driveway last night, and only left to go to the carwash today. The only thing I can remember slightly hiting is a small snow bank about 6 inches off the ground. It was frozen ice, and i was backing out of a driveway. As i turned the wheel, the snow caught my bumper cuz I heard it scrape. It may have been slightly cracked, then with the hot wash, and single digit temps, it probably just took over from there!

Oh well, I will probably get a Certifit bumper, and have the bodyshop at my dealership paint it.

odds are that may have done it. with us having these -double digit temps at night and high's in the single digits these past few days, it really makes plastic brittle and little impacts like that could shatter plastic.

its still a bumer that that happened!

hmm.. not bad at all. actually a great price from the dealers!! wow

but cant believe low temps like that can take a chunk out of the bumper. looking at that picture of your bumper is almost painful.
