Took my car in to Santa Monica Acura this morning to get some brakes. Got the front ones for free because there is a service bulletin on them. I didn't even have to ask about it are force the issue, they offered it right up front. The replaced pads and turned the rotors under this service bulletin.

 

Does anyone know if they are required to give you new pads/turn Rotors, or were they just being nice? Does a TSB mean they MUST do it? Whats with the "1 time only" crap I hear about?

 

I've got front pad replaced when I was 18K miles under warranty. I have no idea about 1 time only crap.

 

Do you know the details, such as years covered, etc, about the service bulletin?

 

they gave asif2002 a hard time because he had more than 18k miles i believe. the stock brakes are awful.

 

The TSB was for 99-01 TL. I am pretty sure that they have to replace it for free if you qualify under the TSB. My service guy asked if I felt a shudder or shake in the wheel when I brake. I answered yes, which I guess qualified for the TSB. He said that he was going to tell me to say yes if I didn't.


One more thing. The is the first time I have had to replace brakes and I have 38,000 miles. The rear brakes were not covered under the TSB, but I had them done anyways.

 

Well my 2002 3.2 TL has 17,000 miles on it and took it in for service. The brakes would shake in the steering wheel. They replaced all 4 rotors and pads without a blink. They did the recalls on the seat belts. They also fixed numerous squeaks without me even asking. They fixed Window, door,sunroof ect...

They were very nice and even paid for my rental for the day!
