Foglights
Well, I spent the better part of yesterday playing with my fog lights. I tried out a few sets of bulbs:
PIAA Platinum Super White: looked weak with a purple hue, better than most stock headlights, but
with HID sitting right above them... it didn't match.
PIAA Super White: looked slightly less white than stock but not white. kind of sick looking.
Knock off brand: looked the worst. like those cheap multicolored headlights on civics.
Wow, the bulbs made very little difference in brightness. Not only that, when you looked at the light,
it looked weaker. It was a horrible look with the HID headlamps on above it. None of them looked
remotely close to HID. Not only that, the fog lamp unit itself adds color to the light. If you look at
the lamp, it had a piece of metal that surrounds the bulb. It's not reflective like most lamps. It's left
some unfinished rusted steel look.
I'm still debating on adding ballasts and HID bulbs, getting ion yellow bulb or leaving it stock. I'm afraid,
that after investing some $500 dollars for HID, the lamp itself will still be adding color and making it not
match.
The lamp lens is simply held on with sealant, probably easily removable with a heat gun. So there is
also the possibility of opening the fog light lamp and removing the rust colored metal from the lamp.
Either that or having that center piece chromed then reinstalled. I'll try the yellow first before I go to
haywire.
FYI, the bolt holding it on is 10 mm. Just unbolt the fog from underneath (with a long extension).
Get a screwdriver (cover it with cloth so it won't scratch) and from the center of the car pry the fog light
out.

I'll try it. My friend just had bulbs sitting
around, so that's all I tried. I think I'll go
order the Ion Yellow though... I think the contrast
will look good. I like that look on the Lexus
and the Benz.

Just an FYI.... I've purchased from Next Collection several times and have never had a problem with them. I've actually been very satisfied.
BTW... the Plasma's look sweet!!
