Flush or Drain-and-Fill

I have 182k miles on my 99TLP and I just started noticing that sometimes when shifting from reverse to D4 (drive) my car hesitates. Feels like it engages-disengage-and-engage. Seems this happens after driving the car for sometime on stop and go traffic or on a hot day. In the mornings or initial starts it's on point like it should. Is this a sign my tranny is wayward or jus needs fresh fluid? I got the car with 145k miles and have no clue of any transmission history work done on it.
Sometimes the car would shift fine through first and second but would stay on third forever, til about 60+mph when driving gently. Otherwise shifts fine with "spirited" driving.
Should I do the three step DIY drain and fill ($7.50/qt = abt $70) or should I do the Honda flush ($160)...?
Also, is there anyway I can find the history of work done on my car besides from the previous owner whom I dont know?

Do NOT do a flush those are horrible for our trannys. They apparently will make things much worse for you. Do the drain and fill.

And, if you haven't already, call Acura with your VIN number and they might be able to tell you if the transmission was ever replaced.

FWIW, the original transmission on my 1999 TL failed at 173,000 miles.

I called Acura with my vin and I asked if I was under the tranny warrenty. The woman on the phone said no, but when I registered on acura's owner link it says I am. Strange...

As long as you did not buy a salvage title car and have a 5 speed A/T, 99-02 and some 03s TL or CL,
you are part of the 7 year 109k miles extended trans warranty
If you have not exceeded either of those- then call again and ask someone else
