Same happened to me. 32K miles. Last Thurday I felt it slam into second gear, but then it was fine the rest of the way home. For the heck of it I called the dealer and they immediately said I needed a new tranny. Took it in last Thursday and got it back yesterday.

Does it occur to anyone that tranmissions are not supposed to be wearable parts and that we have a major problem here?

Yeah, but I was actually glad I went. I tend to hold onto my cars longer than 100K miles. My concern was that it would die afterwards. Once the problem was allegedly resolved, I wanted the new tranny and am actually glad it went.

As crazy as that sounds.
