K&N drop in filters

Just from experiance i suppose K&N drop in filters are warranty approved right?

do they make noticeable differences or just change the sound of vtec engaging??

not up to date on how these motors respond to mods.
thnx

KN does not affect the warranty at all, just like how you won't notice any increase in power.

It might improve gas mileage a fraction, though.

you may not feel the (100shot) difference but that doesnt mean that ther isnt one. your not going to feel a 1-5 hp difference but it may be there. remember, a hp here and a hp there add up eventually!

If anything it does cut down on the maintinance interval for changing it. Hell, I bought it just for that alone.

I have K&N's in both my cars. Noticed a difference in each one of them. More MPG and slightly more mid range power. I recently took a trip to Detroit in 90+ degree heat, AC on and rollin steady at 85mph and got 31.2 mpg while on the highway. Didn't get quite that much on my last road trip. I think it's a good investment personally.

FYI aftermarket filters do not affect warranties. An aftermarket CAI can void the stock intake warranty though.

I really didn't notice a power increase, but it does "growl" just a little more.

The K & N is a good investment as it is a million-mile filter (well, that's its warranty). You have to buy a cleaning kit which K&N recommends you clean and re-oil at 50k miles (I did mine on my old Chevy at 30). It doesn't cost any more than a stock Acura filter--it breathes a little better than a stock paper filter, but 2-3 additional horses will go unnoticed unless you own a go-cart. :p
