well after months of being on this forum I have picked up my brand new TL-S....and I am just loving it...ITS AWESOME!!!!!now its time for me to start modifying it and see how much better i can make it.

just a quick ? when did you guys get your first oil change done, because I was reading in the manual and it says 7500miles and I thought that was alot. can somebody let me know..

congratulation on your new purchase. As for the oil change, i change my first oil change when it is 2800.

my first oil change was around 4000 kms... so I think it's about... 2500 miles?

the sales told me not to change oil until 7500 coz' the first set of oil is thinner for the engine to run better. but i suggest 4000 miles.

Our cars' "break-in oil" is nothing more than regular oil. I get my oil changed at 3750 mi. intervals, including the first oil change.

I was under the distinct impression that the break in oil is not stock oil. It's an additive laden oil that "wets" the metal. ie like the stuff "as seen on TV". That's why the 7500 mile wait. I was told by more than one to ride it out to 7500 or 1 year which ever is first. Was I sold a bill?

Congrats on joining the TL family! Glad you're enjoying your new ride. I was told 3750 miles by my dealer for the first oil change (free, at that!)
