Finally decided on a car!

Well Boys (and girls), I finally took the plunge and bought the car! I got a 2003 ABP TLS and will be picking up my baby this coming saturday! Thanks for all your help (although I have fewer than 40 posts I have been visiting this site for over a year)!

There so many things I like about this car that I was willing to live with any rattles or sqeaks that may appear. Once I pick the car up I am sure that "like" will turn into "Love" when describing my TLS. I still like the GS4XX very much but at this point I wanted a new car and quite honestly didn't have the 50K to spend on a new Lexus. Plus I figured that I am young (25) and have other cars to look forward to in the future.

As far as the deal goes, I did pretty well although I can't disclose any further details. I did not get what I wanted for my car but got about the same as other dealers had offered.

Thumbs up

Excellent choice, welcome to the club!! You will love the car, dont worry. Obsession is just around the corner. You will also hear from your girlfriend, wife, finace, significant other, that you are obsessed with your car. Take this as a compliment. Start modding ASAP!!!

Congratulations! I am 23 and was also looking at either a new GS300 or used GS400/430, but opted for a new TL at much lower cost than either of the two.

Good thinking on looking forward to other cars in the future...the new E-class will be out this summer(AMG version next year), as well as the new GS fall of '03. And who knows what other new cars from other manufacturers in the future.

I'm still waiting on my ride...no ETA!

Calm down 1sicklex

The point I was trying to make and I believe so was JPritch, was that I can buy a great car now and look forward to even better cars in the future (cuz I have plenty of time). We both know all cars change and I know the TL is supposed to be redesigned for 2004. I for one am looking forward to see what Acura, Audi, BMW, Lexus and MB have under their proverbial sleeves.

Calm down brova, relax, and don't get your panties in a bunch. No one is trying to beef with you.

Sweet choice man, welcome to the family, once you learn how to drive it, you will really impressed with how fast it can go, and not just in a straight line. Get some springs and/or sways and good tires and these things turn like a mofo!

P.S. 1SICKLEX is back? I thought they banned that @sshole? What a d!ck

Such anger.
Welcome to the TLS club!
I was wondering if u had a choice of manual or ss.
Get the Comptech exhaust(@ least) & AEM cold air. they make ur car sound pretty good.

I didn't know this guy had a history.

He got me all rowled up for nothing. I remember him from the ClubLexus board, he used to post links to the TL board all the time showing where he started with you guys and got everyone worked up. What a punk.

It seems like he comes on here and puts us down to justify his purchase of a Lexus, but in reality, he doesn't even need to since I will be the first to admit, the Lexus GS4 kicks ass compared to the TL.

Oh well...

Welcome aboard, and BTW, my TL has 18,000 problem free miles. with no rattles or squeeks, so don't buy this trouble unless you encounter it. My only problem was the squeeky sunroof that was successfully lubricated. Have fun buddy.

Thanks fellas

1sicklex does know some sh!t but just comes across too strong and is so damn defensive!

Hey bro, I'm not hating on you but you need to chill out. Heads will get mad when you write sh!t like, " And the new TL comes out next year WTF is your point?" Like JP said, I think the GS400 is a great car and most others do as well but you always seem to try and throw it in people's faces! No need to hate on the TLS.

On another note, I do plan on getting Comptech Springs but will wait till the winter is really over, maybe in April. The car is nice enough stock that I can wait (not to mention the GF is keeping me in check...gotta love her). There are other mods I want but I think I will get a tint first.

uz_a_ho (I like that), the TL only comes in auto w/sport shift. I will get a CAI at some point but am not sure about the exhaust (don't want the car to sound annoying). I want to hear what the car sounds like with exhaust and CAI.

For Judge Judy's sake, no one is putting your car down. I am commenting on the "new model" statement. If u worry about new cars coming out, buy a Bristol and you'll NEVER have to worry about model changes.

In all honesty, congrats Ferizzo on your purchase. I am glad to hear from someone who asks for ALL our valued opinions and ACTUALLY bought a car. Too many times people start threads asking for opinions and never come back to read em.

What's first, wheels, shocks, intake?

I think I will become a post whore overnight!

1sicklex, see when you come off like that its hard not to like you! I appreciate the congrats!

I do value everyone's opinion and I love high end cars (unfortunately I can't afford most of them). I wouldn't call myself an enthusiast yet because I am still learning and I don't even know how to drive stick (never tried). I know I could learn quickly but haven't had the opportunity.

I think Tint, Springs and CAI are first over the next few months and then we will see. I wouldn't mind the 10-15 lbs of torque the RES mod was advertising but I guess they are still working out the kinks.

Well as much as I love whoring I getting bounce!
