Thumbs down Fax Attack in SoCal = Failure

I did, or tried a fax attack to all the dealers in Southern California and i got crap! I sent out the fax on Monday and i got one fax on Friday, and they didn't give me a striaght quote. Are the dealers catching on to our strategy? Can someone in SoCal tell me where they got their TL and for how much?

Don't believe everything you hear on this site I wanted the purchase order of some peeps on this site and they still haven't reply. I was willing to go down to where they live cause my dealer was willing to pay me the difference if I got a better deal. O well

Never know though hehe,
Mr.T

got mine for 35900 out the door without the navi but come with underbody spoiler and wing spoiler at costa mesa Acura

I used e-mail and I received an offer for $31,130 (TL-S with NAVI) before Tax, title, and reg.

It works in the Northeast at least.

In Massachusetts, I found that Ron Bouchard's Acura of Auburn was the easiest to deal with not to mention the best prices. When we bought our 99 TL they gave us the most for our trade in. Of course nobody were discounting from MSRP then. Acura of Boston and Herb Connolly Acura of Framingham were horrible people to deal with.

If they reply back, you need to counter with offer. Don't worry if there is big difference in their price and yours.

When you counter make sure they know that you are ready to buy when you get fair price but at the same time let them know you won't buy if it's not.

I used email to do this and I had dealers reply back with MSRP but I counter and I got a fair deal.

It may also depend on your wording you used in your fax. If you sounded like you were still fishing around for prices, they might not have taken you totally seriously.

When I sent my e-mail, I said that I was going to make my purchase by the end of the week from the dealer that responded with the best price.

Janda_janda: The quote for $31,130 was from the same dealer (from your previous posts). I actually ended up purchasing from a dealer closer to me for about $300 more. I figured the $300 was worth it for me convenience-wise. But I couldn't have negotiated a good price without your (and others') posts!

Kenshin - I purchased from Clair in Norwood, MA, and I know of at least one person who was able to get Inskip in RI to budge off MSRP...

The dealers will get what the market will bear, right? Evidently in New England the TL-S cars aren't moving as quickly as they had hoped. If your guys in CA won't budge, I say just wait a month or two...

Janda-
Thanks for the info, I have made up my mind. I'll keep the Acura 3.2 tl for now, because most likely i'll get around 24k for my trade in, and even if i can get the tl-s for 31k, I'll lose 3k for my trade in and pay additional 7k, which just doesn't make sense just for the additional NAV and the upgraded features. Oh well, I'll just wait for the next new model. But thanks, anytime you stop by NYC, we'll have manhattan clam chowder! Mmmmmmmm
