Just came up with an interesting poll

Let's recap the differences
1999-4 speed transmission (more reliable than 5 speed, use sportshift to control 1st gear)
2000-5 speed transmission, lighted window switches, SRS Side Airbags, New gauge cluster font, New Intake Manifold
2001-Same as 2000, still with old front fascia (some like this better)
2002-Facelift with more aggressive front fascia, Type S added, New Taillights, New Side Mirrors
2003-Same as 2002, Type-S has perforated door leather instead of creased

 

I love my 03..last of the 2nd Gens

 

you forgot 1996, 97, and 98, the 1st gen TL's! the only TL's made in Japan.

 

I'm pretty sure you could ask, "what year TL do you own" and get the exact same results.

 

Whats with your description about the 01 TL? How is it different from the 00 at all?

2002...type s + full warranty coverage on the tranny for all of them not just the earlier models ... and navi without having the fin on the roof for on star (though some people like the look of the fin)

 

i'd get an 03 tl-s and toss on the same mods I have now on my 99.

 

I still drool when I see a 2003 TLs.

 

If I could buy another TL it'd be a 2002, get the facelifted look with a warranty which isn't always there with 2003. Then again, I'd take a 3rd gen TL any day of the week over 2nd.

 

The 2G TL-S is a GREAT car, but honestly, not EVEN close to the 3G TL-S.

Now if the 3G starts falling apart in another 20k miles, I'll change my tune, but stock-for-stock, no contest.

 

Body style on the 3rd Gen has got to be the best!

 

My favorit year would be '08.

 

I really like the lines of the first gen, hence it's sole vote, from me. :P

 

i would say, i would take my 03 2nd gen over any other car because this was my first car, and i'm lovin it.. it only has 73,XXX MILES ON THERE TOO haha

 

03 because I own it, and on the Type S the doors have the perforated leather.

2nd place goes to the 07-08 TL-S simple because of the power/handling, not too crazy about the looks of the 3rd gen although the Type S looks a lot better.

Honestly, I like the look of a modded 2nd gen more than a modded 3rd gen... It's long, sleek, subtle, and understated. Still, a 3rd gen stock is faster and nicer than most of our modded 2nd gen's... Merh. Although, a WDP 3rd gen lowered w/ an ASPEC kit and gold wheels... oh gawd <3

 

3rd gen for sure, TLs A-spec is one crazy car.

 

+1 Acura really made the 02-03 look really nice but the 3G is just damn amazing.

I like the 1st gen tl modded best.

Hell I like all of them. They're all just very classy cars.

I can't make up my mind to which year is the best because honestly I think that all of the TLs from 96-present are amazing and look good in their own ways.

 

3rd Gen ftw...beautiful design...but we do have a second gen type s and a 3rd gen haha
