Extrude Hone?

Has anyone here tried using Extrude Hone? I believe it is a process where you polish the intakes (?) to get more horsepower, somewhere in the neighbourhood of 30% increase in HP. Please correct me if I'm wrong! If any has tried this, how much did you pay for this, and how much increase in HP you have. Any info would be appreciated.

Direct from Extrude Hone's Website
www.extrudehone.com

"Primary applications are air induction components for internal combustion engines, including intake manifolds, cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds. By smoothing these rough "as cast" surfaces in the induction passages, Extrude Hone dramatically enhances air induction and combustion chamber "swirl" velocity. The increased air volume and improved fuel/air mixture result in a cleaner burning, more powerful and more fuel efficient engine."

I don't know anyone personally who have done this but I've heard it's pretty expensive and you gotta ship them your engine and you get it back when they are done. Hope this helps.

thanks bdimc2001. yes, I heard that it's expensive to do too. If I had money to burn, I would probably do this (yeah, like who wouldn't?). I hope someone with a TL would do this, it would be totally cool. All you HP freaks out there, start saving your money now! We need to know how good an extrude hone TLs runs.

Patrick,

The cost is not such a huge issue, I think it's about $700 for intake manifold. It's that fact that I'd be without the use of my car for 3-4 weeks. I'd go through withdrawal big time if I couldn't drive my baby.

Talking

How much performance can you get from the Extrude Hone?

Also keep in mind the cost to take apart the Intake manifold and whatever engine parts will have to come off. Then you will be without your car for at least a good month. After that, gotta pay to get it put back together. Unless u can do all the engine work yourself. Pretty pricey. Would someone try this already
