Extrude Honing...

I havent found much on this forum on EH. WHat are your opinions on it? For those who dont know what it is.... here is a breif article explaining it. http://www.superstreetonline.com/tec..._extrude_hone/

So I was thinking about pricing how much it would be to get my intake manifold Extrude honed. Whatcha guys think??

Side note, has anyone bored out their throttle body? Any good sources for that??

Thanks, Tony.

i'm in the process of getting this done but on my 3.5 CL-S. it will run you about 625 to get both the upper/lower done, another 80 for them to port match if you send them new gaskets, and the shipping charges. bore your throttle body and plate, and i think 20+whp is possible. that number might sound high, but a CL-S reported doing JUST his upper manifold and running even with a cl-s who had headers. headers on the 3.2 cl-s gave off 25-30whp.

also i imagine a significant increase in torque as well.

So did you drop a 3.5 in your CL?? What are your thoughts on the throttle body?

I thought the throttle could not be done due to the drive by wire system?

Well no matter what the throttle body can still be bored out. At least by 3-5mm. Yeah its drive by wire but it is still a throttle body, the butterfly is the same and the bore is the same.

I think that is a bit of a high number.

5mm of overall diameter is like 2.5mm less of thickness.

I would definitely like to see pics of the throttle before and after with a caliper measurement.

Yeha, I cant remember for sure but back when I had my 00 accord v6 3mm was a pretty common bore. I dont know, I need to get more info on this and research more before I consider this. I think I would do the throttle body bore and intake manifold extrude hone at the same time.

i'm pretty sure king motorsports does a 4mm bore and replaces the throttle plate with a thinner one on the j32 throttle body.

I believe that's a correct statement...

Bump. I would really like to know more about this, and if this would be possible on the TL? Anyone with more experience like to chime in?
