I'm wondering which exhast resonator to go with, i'm getting a custom exhaust put in and i dont know which one to go with. I'm lookin for a nice low deep sound, nothin like a civic.

well it depends on what exhaust you go with. you dont want to change your resonator till you know what mufflers your going with

if u installed the 18 resonator itll sound louder than if u had the 22...i dont have any resonators on mine n i havent gotten tired of the sound yet...but to play it safe n getting the sound u want...i would suggest u not to install the resonator yet...get ur custom done w/o the resonator...see if u like it...if its too loud...then install 1...kuz if u install the resonator 1st u will wonder what itll sound like w/o it...

if i dont get it istallled, there would be strait pipe just going through right?

and if i dont get it installed right now, can i (myself) install it later on or would i have to have a pro do it?

yea see, thats the only problem, it'll cost more if i dont get the resonator and then decide to put it on, and im not plannin on bringing my car back to the place to do that

so i think im gonna go with a resonator

now with magnaflow, is it only between 18-22?

u can always add.
most use a 18 - 22 in place of the stock resonator.
and nothing (except a support bracket)..in place of the premuffler.

i have a 14 inch res....lots of resonance around 2.2k to 3.0 k rpm.
it's not bad....i like it...
but the interior resonance can be annoying to passengers.

and that my friend is why the comptechs RULE!!! if your driving somewhere you can add the quiet tip inserts in a matter of seconds and reduce the resonance by over half!

OR if you want it louder you can make some loud tip inserts (as i call my little creation) and make it louder in a matter of seconds!
