Excessive Brake Dust

Ever since I got my car I have had a huge problem with Excessive Brake Dust. If i was my wheels within 1 to 2 days they are night black again. In order to attempt to fix this problem when it was time to switch break pads i switched to EBC greenstuff low-dust pads, and the result...... worse or no better. I am currently using stock 99tl wheels which come very close to caliper so i thought this might be contributing to the problem. I will soon be switching to ssr gt1's and will be hoping this will solve the problem. If not does anyone have any suggestions?? I hate having ugly ass dirty wheels, and I cannot afford the time to wash my wheels every two days!!!

I have an 05 TL (brembos) after a day of driving they wouldn't look dirty but the dust was there...after two days is when you see the dust....

When I get home every day or other day...I just go over it with an old towel....the towel cuts thru the dust like butter leaving a clean surface (takes a bout a minute in total, the dust is not stubborn at all...comes right off with one wipe)...On my car its only the front wheels that get thrity...I dont ever worry about the back ones...there usually never dirty.

Your paint can be super clean....but if you got some dirty rims it ruins the whole clean image of the car. At least in my opinion.

Your other option is to get darker rims so the brake dust doesn't show up as much.

I've been 100% statisfied (pun intended) with Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads. Absolutely no dust and good stopping power.

If you want practically no brake dust you should try Akebono Ceramic pads. I have been using them for almost 10k and they don't squeak. Brake dust is very lite in color. Pads are inexpensive too. Like $55 for the front at tirerack.

I'm running Raybestos Quiet Stops all around. They're a ceramic pad with virtually no break dust at all and I'm very happy with them.
