First question is theres an annoying tick in my motor , the dealer says its normal but everyone that rides with me says it sounds like a bad lifter?

My other question is will a 02 with Navi radio fit in an 00without navi? thanks for the help guys

 

i have a lil bit of a tick in mine too (2000 w/47k miles)
not too sure bout the radio, i think its supposed to bve hooked up wit the navi....still not too sure

The radio will fit!! Make sure it's from a TL not CL.

 

I don't have any sort of tick with mine, myabe you should bring it to another shop and get a second opinion. As for the radio, do a search on the forum. I'm pretty sure that it's been discussed before.

 

teh tick is a known thing on the tl. there are 2 possible problems. firs where exactly is the tick coming from. the engine bay or infront of the rear drivers side tire.

the one in the engine bay is the FPR. they have been known to be noisy.

the one in the back of the car is the evap canister.

 

the tick is under the hood , its something in the motor, when the engine gets gas and revs up the speed of the ticking increases? whats FPR fsttms1? and is it normal or get it checked? thanx again for all the help guys, and girls.

 

its not in the engine. you may be hearing the pulse of the fuel injectors.
i highly doubt its noisy valves

FPR= Fuel Pressure Regulator

there is something under the hood on the firewall that is doing that (if memory serves correctly thats what it is.) i had something replaced right after i bought the car that was really noisy and ticked) many on this forum have experianced this

 

cool ill have to check this out . as for the radio as long as its off a TL the head units for navi and non- navi should be the same right?

 

correct. teh 99-03 headunits all work. the CL hu's look identical but dont work
