Engine Light is "ON"

Any ideas to get away from the suggested $350.00 the "stealer" wants to replace the converter thay claim is responsible for the engine light activating the sensor. It's a 1999 with 180,000 babied KM's on it. It's not negatively affecting the performance; the price is high just to turn a light off....Thx

350 for a cat from the dealer isnt bad at all. you could check with auto parts stores and muffler shops and see how much you could get a new one for

Turn off that light

I actually got this fixed on my car today. I go to a place called A+ Dealer Alternative to get work done. I went there to get my 105k servive a little early. Right before 120k the light started blinking. I called them and I went there and took him literally two minutes. Put your key in the ignition. Hold the Select and Reset buttons for your odometer. Turn the key once and wait a few seconds. I think it was about 5 or 10 but I don't remember. The guy was sitting in front seat doing it. I think he just held until light stopped blinking. Then just let go of two buttons and start her up. Let me know if it works, hope I can save you some money.

Also, does anyone know where to get a nice grill or how to diy?? Thanks.

the maintanance required and check engine light are 2 seperate things. the maint required light is a Dummy light, the check engine light usually has to do with something wrong with the car

CAT Converter is around $275 at auto repair or muffler shops.
