Both the engine light and the TCS light came on while driving today. Once parked the TCS light came off but the engine light remained. I'm concerned that it could be something serious. I've been told that sometimes if you fill your car up at the gas station and you don't screw the gas cap tightly the engine notifies you by lighting the engine light.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Okay I did search on this forum and to my surprise, many have experienced the same problem. Did a quick reading on one of the thread and came up with one solution:

Clean intake manifold, clean fuel injectors, and maybe get a thermoblock spacer kit (which I have no idea what this is for - and I'm not sure I really need this one)

Was your transmission acting up? Take it to Autozone for a scan.

 

tcs and engine light is also a sign of the tranny..


or the infamous EGR valve..

 

i just had that problem, my engine would shake like crazy, and it actually shut down on me a few times; solution: fuel injectors and the EGR valve...a bitch and a half, freaken Acuras.
