Sensor, relay, throttle body, clogged injectors, bad hose, it could be a lot of things with 130k miles on it.

I'd get a complete tune up, plugs, hoses, the works... just to be on the safe side with that many miles on it...

Daaam thas a lot of miles. I agree with the full tune up idea at that much miles.

On a side note... I dont get why ne one would spend so much on a car with that much miles..because.. its bound to have repairs now at that high mileage. I feel like by the time u spend the money on repairs if u factor that into ur price u could've just bout something else. Maybe not as nice as a TL but still. Just my thouhts.

well he has taken excellent care of it and has every single tune up done and the oil changed ever 8,000 miles so it is in pretty good condition overall

With most Hondas and Acuras, you'd be figuring wrong.

I have a '95 Accord EX with 126K miles on it, and I routinely drive it on road trips. I'd drive it cross country tomorrow, if need be. I've put exactly $100 in corrective repairs into the car. It's been paid off since early '97.

I fully expect similar reliability from my '02 TL-S. 'cept the trans, of course.

I would agree with you about the older Honda's. But with the new Honda's 98 and up... I think they have lost quality tremendously. Why... I cant tell you. I have had a 99 Accord and its been nothign but problems.. including needing a new tranny at 50k miles that honda refused to fix...so I traded it in for the TLS. Im starting to get weird probs with this car too. So far nothing major but defenitely more expensive to maintain than a TOYOTA PREVIA that sits in my driveway. That car.. I haven't spen ne money on ..but has 168k miles on it.. and also a 86 Camry that I had back in the day that I sold over to my friend who now has 215k miles on it!! Still on the same tranny.

My friend has two Honda Civics and one Prelude.. all before 97 and they run great. It ran better than my 99 Accord. Some people blame cuz now Hondas are made in Mexico opposed to Japan. I dont know.. all I know is they aren't as good as they use to be. Does this mean I hate Honda's or I'm bashing my TL?? HELL NOO!! I LOVE IT and would defend it to the grave if ne one other than a Honda person criticized it. Im just being honest.. one TL memeber to another ..thas all.

Desi, be careful when parking on an incline. You WILL eventually break your motor mounts. It has happened twice to my '99 already.

Accords have been built in Marysville, Ohio, since '94, I believe. I know my '95 EX was built there. The TL began production on that same line starting in '99. They're still being built there today. Engines are US built. The transmissions in our TLs are Japan-built. So much for that theory.
