You dont. Its molded on. You have to buy one without it.

20 bucks new or like stated above see if you can get one off a used car

i think he meant molded as in it is raised there?
so nothing to sand down to.

if you really want your engine to look like that; buy a type s.

Did you not look at the pictures he posted??? He even has a arrow to the ULEV he wants off. Not the intake manifold. And what does buying a type-s have to do with any thing. Neither of those pics are a type-s either.

i was under the impression the 99's are the only ones with that cover... i've seen a ton of 00 and 01's at the dealer with that "non Type S" cover

Thats not a type-s cover. ONLY the 99 had the intake manifold with the tubular design. The 2000-2003 had the other design. The type-s has a similar design but is raised further.

99 and ONLY 99's

TL-p

Type-s

I didnt correct you. I was clarifying. The rest of my post was to show the differences.

Can't believe Acura went through that many engine cover designs in one generation. It's like they couldn't decide how they wanted it to look.

They had to redesign the covers to fit the redesigned manifolds. 2 TL-P's, and a Type-S.

Yours is different Bearcat, passenger side curves outward

Didn't know about the redesigned manifolds. I still would've thought they'd try to keep the design theme/graphics more similar - they're all over the map.

Yeah, at the time they (Acura/Honda) were probably close to the cutting edge in the high emissions standard. IOW - ULEV was a big deal in "being green" in 1999 or 2000.
